Powerful & Refreshing
Genesis 1:1 gives the account of water being created with the creation of the earth. We read that even before God spoke light into existence that the Holy Spirit was hovering over the face of the waters. So water existed even before light.
Water is evidence of God's power, love and care. God uses water in the process of creating and sustaining life. He has more life living in His waters than that lives outside them. He fills our bodies with water to transport needed resources, to wash away toxins and to lubricate our joints for movement.
He uses water to demonstrate His power. God used the Flood to destroy the evil in the world. God parted the Red Sea for His people to escape the Egyptian armies and then released those same waters to destroy them. Jesus walked on a raging sea demonstrating His power over all elements.
These are all awesome acts that only He can do. That said, one of my favorite accounts in the Bible is when Jesus announced publicly that He is the Messiah. John 4:1-30 is the account of Jesus meeting the Samaritan woman at the well. As you read this, pay close attention to the fact that Jesus knows everything about her. He loves her completely and desires to save her. Jesus refreshes us with His living water and saves us through His work on the cross. Drink Him in.
GOD IS INFINITE
God has always existed and always will. He has no beginning and no end. God has no size. He is everywhere all at once. There is no place that exists that He is not there. You cannot measure God as He has no limits to His power of what He can create. God has no limits to His knowledge. He knows all things, all thoughts and all desires of each person and thing He has created. God has no limits to His love. No mere person can or will love you as much as God loves you. God is infinite as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. All are infinite.
John 4:12-15 NIV
"Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?" Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life." The woman said to Him, "Sir, give me this water so that I won't get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water."
Revelation 21:6 NIV
He said to me: "It is done. I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life."
Revelation 22:1 NIV
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
