Open Door Policy

Over my years of working, I have heard the phrase, "open door policy". This is to mean that at any time that I need, I may go in and speak with the boss about a difficult situation I was finding myself in. The expectation was that someone of power would listen to me and then would be able to respond based on their overall knowledge, judgment and ability to change something if needed to ensure the overall goal of the company was achieved.

Notice that I'm writing about a conversation. This is an exchange between two parties. This is not a one-way request or complaint system. Also notice, that the superior has the right and obligation to determine how best to respond based on their abilities and to cause the greatest good for all.

To me, this work-related description of an "open door policy" provides an example of what happens when we pray to God. Of course, our boss is not God. However, God has all wisdom, power and works all things together for the overall good that love Him. So go to God frequently with each area of your life being confident in Him knowing that He is always accessible and will always do what is best for His plans related to you.

GOD IS ACCESSIBLE

God is always available to meet with you. God is always ready to listen to your words. Yes, it is true that God knows all about you, yet He longs to be in communication with you. It is good for you to acknowledge and seek Him to be in your life.

There is no time or place that God is too busy for you. God provides for us an open line of communication to Him called prayer. God hears the prayers of His chosen people. God the Son serves as our mediator with the Father and brings our prayers to Him. God the Holy Spirit helps us to formulate our prayers to send up to the Father.

God grants you unlimited access to Himself and delights in hearing from you as it is good that we rely on Him alone to provide answers to our prayers. God is sovereign. God is our holy Father. God will always be there for you.

Hebrews 4:14-16 NIV

Therefore, since we have a Great High Priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet He did not sin. Let us approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Ephesians 2:18-20 NIV

For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of His household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the Chief Cornerstone.

1 John 5:14-15 NIV

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, he hears us. And if we know that He hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of Him.
