No Speeding for Safe Weight Loss

At the beginning of your TRIP, we sent you your Weight Loss Plan based on restricting the calories you consume in order to lose weight. On your chart you have Calories to Maintain Weight, your BMR calories and Calories to Lose Weight. Based on your gender, age and current weight your daily calories have been calculated. In order to lose up to 12 pounds during a TRIP cycle, you must restrict 1,000 calories per day than required to maintain your current weight.

You may notice that your Calories to Lose Weight has a minimum number and that may never change. This is because there are minimums based on your gender that if you go under may be harmful and cause your weight loss to slow down over time. Medical research has determined that the minimum calories to maintain good health is 1,200 for women and 1,500 for men.

If you are going under those daily amounts your metabolism may slow down as your body is trying to protect itself. This means that your weight loss will slow down and may even stop for a period of time. Your Weight Loss Plan has been calculated using a formula that has provided consistent results. Just like you follow a GPS when you drive, you can see the map and the expected time of arrival for your destination. Your Weight Loss Plan has been calculated this way as well.

Using that same GPS analogy, what can happen if you try to get to your destination by speeding and breaking the law? You are more likely to get pulled over, receive a ticket and get to your destination later than you were originally forecasting. Point is to stay on plan and not try to rush the process. Remember that you started this TRIP to live a healthier life. A life that will glorify God and will give you the opportunity to be available for your loved ones for many years to come!

So what is your personal expected date to reach your heathly weight goal? If you are having trouble determining that, connect with SanctiFit and we’ll help you.
