Are We There Yet?!

As I get older and can reflect back, it is amazing to remember all the times that I and my loved ones either said or acted out the words, "ARE WE THERE YET?!" We do this out of frustration because we want to do something or be somewhere or be someone that has not happened. It is a desire to experience what we think is better than our current state.

With this in mind, think back to a time that you desperately wanted the next (fill in the blank). What was your reason for this? What had to happen in order to realize your goal? No matter what the steps were, I know one element that had to occur was time. God in all His love and wisdom gives us time.

It is in the time that God gives us that patience may be found. Patience is actively remaining calm and confident in the outcome not yet realized. So how can we experience patience? It is only when we trust in God with our entire life and the world around us that we can be confident in the results.

Know that God knows you better than yourself and that He is working in your life even when you are frustrated and wanting to get to the next good thing. It is good that you are desiring to be in a better state. Realize and be confident that God is in control and that He will bring you to that next good thing when it is best for you and His plan.

God is outside of time and knows every moment of your life. Put your trust in God and experience one of His attributes that is patience.

GOD IS PATIENT

God purposely waits knowing the outcome of all things for all time. God is slow to anger and allows for all people to come to Him in their free will. He is ready to take action at the exact time for all things to work together for the good of those that love Him. God's faithfulness to His chosen people is displayed in His patience.

1 Corinthians 13:3-5 NIV

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Galatians 5:22-25 NIV

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Psalm 27:13-14 NIV

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Romans 12:12 NIV

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
