Loving Discernment

We live in a worldly society that has always pressed down on people in an effort to separate, control, use and destroy them for the benefit of the one in power. We all have been taught by worldly teachers the reasons that others are inferior and why we are special. This worldly teaching and practice has never been more promoted and broadcast more than today. Through technology, the worldly systems of discrimination and self-importance are being shared online in real time. With this being the environment in which we live and make decisions, we must be diligent in seeking God for His discernment.

Discernment is the process used in determining what is good for ourselves and others in the world around us. A key to making good decisions is to go to the purest Source to know fully what is good. It is vital that we stop listening to ourselves, others around us and the world that is contrary to God. God provides us The Holy Spirit, the Holy Bible and disciples (active followers and learners) of Christ Jesus to consult in making decisions.

God desires the best for all people at all times. God unites people to Himself and to each other through Christ Jesus. In Psalm 139:14 it says, "I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well." We have all been made by God for a special purpose. We are all equally special. Let's keep that in mind as we discern how we are to love God and to love others.

GOD IS IMPARTIAL

God provides the opportunity and ability for all people to have a relationship with Him regardless of a person's physical, mental or spiritual makeup. God does not value men more than women. God does not value Jews more than Gentiles. God does not value the strong more than the disabled. God does not value the genius more than the mentally ill. God does not value the devoted Christian more than the humanist atheist.

God cannot be bargained with or manipulated to gain His favor. God is consistent and never changing in His desire to have a relationship with all people. God provides each person the same opportunity to make a choice to repent from their sins and to accept Christ Jesus as their Savior and Lord.

God The Holy Spirit is sent to all people by God the Father to first convict them of their sins and lead them into a decision of faith into God the Son, Christ Jesus. God The Holy Spirit then impartially provides spiritual gifts, teaching, guidance and prayer for all of God's children to sanctify them. God is impartial and He desires righteousness for us all.

James 3:13-18 NIV

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such "wisdom" does not come from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

2 Corinthians 5:16-19 NIV

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
