It’s Simple Math = No Cheating!

Do you like math? I do, however I know that there are many of you that do not like to get into the numbers. No matter your feelings about math, it is all about the facts. Math gives us specific and consistent information so that we can make educated decisions and to explain our results. With weight loss, we have some simple math to do to help us make a simple, but not easy, decision.

We know that there are 3,500 calories in one pound. When we are deficient 3,500 calories from our diets, we lose one pound. When we have a surplus of 3,500 calories, we gain a pound. These are the facts and are consistent over time. So then why is it that we would think having a "cheat day" with our eating would help us to lose weight?

I have read articles and with explanations of tricking your body into thinking that it should increase in metabolism by purposely increasing calories on one day a week. On a typical cheat day people may eat 2 to 3 times of their calorie allotment to lose weight. That is not only stopping your weight loss for a couple of days, it could also bring on regret, anxiety and depression due to your decision.

Remember that you are in a plan that is about calories restriction to lose weight. Do not sabotage yourself with a cheat day. Instead, count and track your calories for a food item or meal. You can eat anything you want, just not how much you may want. Stay within your calories to lose weight for the day and stay on your plan. It is the decisions we make today that will impact our future.

Do you know how many calories you can eat each day to maintain your current weight? Better yet, how many calories can you eat while still losing weight? At SanctiFit we provide each member a Personal Weight Loss Plan that includes these numbers. Become a Member today and make sure that you are not cheating yourself!
