Wind Power

If you have ever had the pleasure of driving across the country and finding wide open spaces you have seen colonies of giant wind turbines spinning in the wind for as far as you can see. For me, it is one of my favorite things to watch. It's almost hypnotic in what appears to be perpetual motion. Just when I think I could not be more amazed, I find something abnormal.

I find a wind turbine that is not turning! How can this be? The wind that is causing the others to spin is not moving that one. Logically, I determine that there must be something broken with the one not moving. There is a reason that the motionless one is not working. Only when the maintenance technician in charge of the turbines repairs it will it be able to work as it should.

So why do these wind turbines exist? Who made them and for what purpose? They were made and placed specifically in locations to harness the wind in efforts to create clean renewable energy; energy that is turned into electricity, electricity that turns on the lights so that we can see in dark places.

All of this reminds me of how Jesus explained to Nicodemus the importance of being born again. John 3:5-8 says "Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again'. The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit". Christ Jesus, God the Son born into human flesh, is explaining to all of us that unless we are born again through The Holy Spirit we will not be with God in His kingdom today or ever.

So, are you being powered today by The Holy Spirit or are you in need of repair? Have you been born of flesh alone and need to be born of the Spirit? By the mercy and grace of God, we have all been given the choice to accept or reject salvation. God is moving constantly around you and desires to be your sole energy source for life today and forevermore.

GOD IS INVISIBLE

God is invisible. He is there but you cannot see Him directly with your physical vision. God is so holy that in our fallen sinful state, we cannot see Him directly or we would die. The sight of His glory is so powerful and pure it would cause our physical bodies to be completely rejected and die. God is invisible for our protection.

God is invisible. However, He reveals Himself in His creation. God displays His artistry throughout the universe. God reveals Himself in the human body of Christ Jesus. God is Spirit and though He is invisible, we are shown His impact all around us at all times. Just like the wind that is powerful and invisible, we see the effects of His Holy Spirit in the way all things work together for the good for those that love Him and for His glory.

Psalm 23 NIV

The Lord is my Shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Colossians 1:15-17 NIV

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

1 Timothy 1:17 NIV

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
