Knowledge is Power?

Most likely you have heard the phrase "knowledge is power". Is this true? If you know something does it give you power to control it and have it do as you will? Most definitely not.

So then, I would say that having knowledge of something may then give you the power to determine if it is good and how to respond to it and who to share the information with. In order to do this, one must have God's moral law to determine what is good and have free will to make a decision. One would also then need to have another person to determine whether to share the knowledge. This scenario is demonstrated with the fall of mankind.

God had created Adam and Eve as perfect human beings in His image. Like us, they were created with God's moral law instilled in them so that they could determine good from evil without needing to experience it. More so, they were told directly by God what they could do and not do in order to stay within His will. God's will for them and us is to have an eternal relationship. They had all they would ever need provided by God to live for eternity in paradise and dwell with Him. Yet, they were deceived and tempted by the lies of Satan.

God had commanded them not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. God's command was not for them to be ignorant or discerning of good and evil. God's command was that they would not have the knowledge that is only gained by experiencing something. God warned them that if they disobeyed Him and ate from the Tree, that they would die and be cut off from His holiness and all that He is. Satan understood this and twisted God's words and even changed the meaning to deceive Eve and Adam. They both then willingly chose to disobey God and experienced evil.

We know this happened by reading God's Word today. We also know this to be true as we all have sinned against God by not trusting Him and choosing what we justified to satisfy our own selfish desires. All of this sin separates us from God. God is the only true source of all knowledge of what is good.

Hallelujah and praise God that He in His omniscience had a plan to redeem each of us back into His righteousness through His Son Christ Jesus! Who do you know that needs to know this as well? You have the power to share this great news!

GOD IS OMNISCIENT (ALL-KNOWING)

God knows all things for all times. There is nothing that is physical, mental or spiritual that has or ever will exist without Him knowing about it. God's omniscience, combined with His sovereignty, justice, mercy, grace and love make Him the holy, perfect Judge for His entire creation.

Since God exists inside and outside of time, He knows everything that has, is and will happen. When God gives His prophets revelations of the future (prophesy) He is giving details of what He knows will happen. Just as when God makes a covenant or gives a promise to His people, He is stating a fact of what He will do. He knows it to be true and in Him there are no lies. Since God is omniscient, you can always trust that it is true and it will happen.

2 Peter 1:19-21 NIV

We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Revelation 1:1-3 NIV

The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending His angel to His servant John, who testifies to everything he saw - that is the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

Revelation 22:7 NIV

Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.
